The Board Retailers Association (BRA) is a non-profit trade association representing 550 action sport retailers in the surf, skate, snow, wake, kite and wind industry with almost 3,000 storefronts across the country. East and West Coast retailers formed the Board Retailers Association in February 2003. Under the direction of BRA’s Chairman and Board of Directors, the association serves as the preeminent voice, for independent retailers on a grassroots level with manufacturers, trade show representatives, and other associations. The Board Retailers Association also works to provide educational resources and exclusive discounts and savings from vendors on the day-to-day costs of business. IASC’s (the International Association of Skateboard Companies) goals are to promote skateboarding, increase participation, save its members money, and educate. IASC’s focuses our marketing efforts around Go Skateboarding Day on June 21, every year, the IASC annual push to get everyone on a skateboard. Go Skateboarding Day, an international event, began in 2004. Each year the holiday grows bigger and better than last. Skateboard parks, skateboard shops, cities and skateboarders plan events such as barbeques, fundraisers, contests, or simply took to the streets. IASC’s priority is to involve more youth in skateboarding. To encourage more kids to get on and stay on skateboards we hold Learn to Skate days and Career days, and send them to skateboard camps.
