Tim Buche
President, Motorcycle Industry Council

Tim BucheTim Buche assumed the presidency of the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC), the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), and the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (SVIA) in September 1996.

Prior to joining the associations, Buche was national sales development manager at American Suzuki and held various regional and national positions covering retail, management, marketing and staff development with Suzuki from 1984 to 1996. While at Suzuki, he served on the MIC board of directors and the MSF board of trustees, sitting as chair of MIC’s marketing and public policy committee from 1994 to 1996.

During Buche’s twelve-year tenure, the Boards of the MIC, SVIA and MSF have been instrumental in setting and following a course of growth and improved services in a booming motorcycle and strong ATV sales environment. A frequent speaker throughout the U.S. and internationally, Buche promotes the work of the Foundation with a world view and U.S. focus.

Membership in the MIC has doubled, and the Council’s activities in the critical areas of research and statistics, market expansion, communications preparedness and staff development have increased. Discover Today’s Motorcycling (DTM), the media outreach and market expansion program of the MIC, promotes positive public awareness and acceptance and aims to maintain motorcycling’s fashionable position in popular culture.
